The 8450 is an excellent all around printer for a great price. I have tried to create a detailed index but although printed is my first consideration, in the TOC I have. The card reader and USB ports are also a nice features, but I seldom use them. Printed Index At this time printed material is my immediate goal and web help is second. The LCD screen is a cool feature but I always print through my PC. If you plan on printing many black and white documents, you should consider getting another printer because The 3-gray cartridge will not last long (I use my old hp 3650 for black and white). "best" provided ample quality for my pictures. I never found a need to use the "maximum dpi" mode.

Tuning your photos with 3rd party software (I use Google's picassa) also makes better prints, but again it depends on the camera. It will only print pictures as good as your camera though. Digital photography has become a hobby of mine because of this printer. From my past experiences with printers (hp deskjet 3650 mostly) I just figured you could not print good photos at home. The quality this printer delivers is incredible. I got this printer for about $70 on Ebay a while back which I have to admit was a steal. This printer has exceded my expectations and added a valuable tool to my photograpy hobby. I would highly recommend this printer to anyone thinking of buying a photo printer. I use this printer for photos only and use my HP deskjet 3940 for my everday printing needs. These cartridges range from $20.00 to $30.00 a piece. You can also put in a regular tri-color if you are printing something other than photos. This pritner uses 3 cartridges, a photo cartridge, a gray cartridge and a black cartridge. The only downside to this printer and any other printer for that matter is the cost of the ink cartridges.

This is a very nice printer that prints professional looking photos. This printer is very easy to use, and the menu is easy to navigate. Be sure that the index card is loaded under the. Gently load the index card with the printing side facing up until it touches the back of the tray. Spread the paper guides a little wider than the actual paper width.

It can remove red eye, adjust brightness, automatically focus a blurred photo, apply digital flash to a photo with poor lighting, crop, add decorative frames and color effects such as sepia and black and white. Do not touch the index card in the manual feed tray or pull it out during printing. Another nice feature the printer provides is a variety of enhancements that can improv e the quality of your photos. You can print photos on a wide variety of paper sizes, from 3x5 up to 8.5x14. One feature that I really like is the dedicated photo tray for your 4圆 photos. You can also hook your camera directly to the printer using a usb cable to view and print your photos. This printer has slots for and reads all types of memory cards, and then displays your photos on a LCD screen right on the printer. I like the fact that you do not even need a computer to print your photos.
